Exciting New Open-air Meeting Venue Announced for 'The Whole World Mobilising' Celebration
WITH just over a week to go until the international Salvation Army joins together to celebrate the ongoing blessings being experienced through The Whole World Mobilising initiative, there is exciting news about a change in the location of the open-air venue for the celebration Sunday on 8 October. The outreach will now take place in Trafalgar Square, an iconic public space in the heart of London, which is home to Nelson’s Column and the focus of many cultural celebrations. The southern corner of the square joins with the Mall – the straight road that leads directly to Buckingham Palace.
This is a fantastic setting for an open-air meeting, in a place that is always thronged with hundreds of locals and tourists.
From this high-profile location, an offer of hope in Christ will be provided by the Chief of the Staff (Commissioner Brian Peddle) and through a range of creative worship expressions including brass, songsters, the male vocal quartet FourHymn and dance by Konverse dance academy. Salvationists and friends will also be on hand to speak to people and witness in person.
The open-air meeting and a march through the streets of London will be live-streamed so that people around the world join in this special day, which is led by General André Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox (World President of Women's Ministries). The stream will start at 11am (BST) with the holiness meeting at Regent Hall Corps, followed by the march of witness and open-air meeting at 1.30pm, then the final celebration meeting at 3.30pm.
The stream will be accessible via Facebook (www.facebook.com/mobilising) and through the Mobilising website at sar.my/mobceleb. It will feature in-depth coverage of the events as well as exclusive interviews with participants and special guests.
Everyone is welcome to go along and be part of the events, but even people who can't get to London can take part in the celebration by watching online and uploading photos and prayers via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Posts should be tagged with the hashtags #TSApray or #TSAcelebrates. Photos, comments and prayers using these hashtags will be featured on a live social wall at https://walls.io/7EOCe8gIK
