When written in 1899, pioneer Salvation Army officer Commissioner Gunpei Yamamoro’s The Common People’s Gospel sold three million copies in Japan alone, with many more of the English translation being sold around the world.

This edition has been revised to update the vocabulary, but the spirit of the book and its author remains.
