International Development Services has four guiding principles:

Embrace

that we are part of a global Christian movement. Our international development work is motivated by our desire to see people experiencing life in all its fullness through Jesus and guided by our Christian faith and Salvation Army values.

Partner

with local corps (churches) and communities, implementing and supporting territories, other IHQ departments and external agencies to promote international development that is effective, transformative and rooted in relationship.

Amplify

the voices of those we work to support including implementing territories and the local communities within them to ensure that everyone is heard and valued.

Share

our experiences, learnings and impact of locally led development and high-quality programmes. Contributing toward continuous development, building organisational capacity and collaborating for creative solutions is a key aspect of our work.

Faith-Based Facilitation

Faith Based Facilitation is the process in which we carry out many of our projects. We use a relationship building approach to make sure members of the community are active at every stage. This allows us to see the full potential in a community using the resources readily available. The support of all individuals and groups affected by the project is essential in its success and ongoing impact.
