In the meeting, there were 4 sessions in which many different speakers shared their stories and opinions.
Session 1: Rage and Self Defence as the Foundation of Women’s Health and Tools of Empowerment
Speaker: Molly Singer, Executive Director of ESD Global.
- Singer discusses how empowerment tools and self-defence tactics - mental, verbal, and physical - can save lives in unexpected ways.
- 30% of teen women have anxiety disorders
- Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) empowers women in 87 countries to channel their power and to trust their anger.
Session 2: Circle of Women Empowerment in the Workplace.
Speakers: Arlene Limas (CEO of PAVE) and Mandy Meloon (Former Olympian in Taekwondo)
- Mandy shared her inspiring story of standing up against sexual abuse in the workplace and being underestimated as a woman.
- Arlene discussed the importance of keeping women in the workplace safe and giving them the same opportunity to succeed as anyone else.
- The work and aim of PAVE prevention to “empower women in the workplace” was discussed, not only how it helps keep women safe, but also help them to succeed and grow professionally.
- 75% of women in leadership have reported some form of sexual assault
Session 3: The Importance of Empowerment Self Defence in Realizing Women’s Professional Potential Today
Speakers:
Yehudit Sidikman, CEO MyPwr Ltd, Founder and President of El HaLev.
Sara HaLevi, Chief Marketing Officer, MyPwr Ltd.
Sireen Shirabi, App Project Manager, MyPwr Ltd.
Adi Wimmer, CEO of El HaLev.
- During this session, the speakers examined the elaborate relationship between gender-based violence, health and wellness, and professional accomplishment.
- El Halev is a violence prevention educational and training programme, with over 100,000 graduates.
- Statistics show that women who experience violence in childhood have a greater difficulty entering the workplace later in life.
- Sireen Shirabi recalls on her own experiences to discuss the positive impact of being empowered as a woman at an early age, now working in a company in which she continues to be empowered every day.
Session 4: Creating Generational Choice through Empowerment Self-Defence (ESD)
Speaker: Sarah McArthur, CEO, Power of XYZ
- Sarah recalls on her own trauma in the past and explores how taking an ESD class 11 years ago changed her life for the better.
- Sarah explores how this work has helped her “restore her voice”.
