Matching gift and donations from community totaled nearly $140,000 on Christmas Eve
The Salvation Army of Kent County successfully raised $89,911 on Tuesday, December 24, activating a $50,000 matching gift from The Salvation Army’s Grand Rapids Advisory Board, bringing the total donations for the day to $139,911.
The matching gift was especially helpful this year as Red Kettle donations were down due to a late Thanksgiving. In addition, The Salvation Army established a larger overall goal to address a greater overall need in Kent County.
