Major Mike McKee Deploys to Serve Ebola Virus-Affected Communities in Liberia
Major Mike McKee was recently appointed to provide technical assistance and guidance to local Salvation Army leadership and emergency project implementation teams in Ebola-ravaged Liberia. Major McKee’s role will be to work with key personnel and local governments in virus-affected communities to seamlessly transition the present Ebola related emergency relief efforts to longer-term, non-medical recovery projects. In addition, Major McKee will serve as The Salvation Army’s liaison to the United Nations for non-medical relief and recovery efforts. Major McKee is currently serving as the Corps Officer in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Worldwide, over 25,000 individuals have been infected with the Ebola Virus, resulting in over 10,500 reportable deaths.
