2017 Year-End Giving Update
The Salvation Army's ability to serve is based on the generosity of members of our community. As generous donors give, we use those funds to assist their neighbors in need.
This generosity has, in the past, been encouraged by the Federal tax code. In fact, The Salvation Army raises more funds in the last two months of the year than all other months put together, with a significant portion falling on the last two days of the year.
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 will double the standard deduction, and it is forecast that only five percent of American taxpayers will itemize their taxes in the future. That makes this year, for many people, the last year that a year-end donation will be tax deductible.
Your year-end donation will enable us to continue fighting for good throughout 2018!
- $25 can provide clothing and food for children
- $50 can feed a struggling family
- $75 can help a senior facing a utility shut off
Every year end gift makes a difference in someone's life in the New Year! Join the fight for good by December 31.
