The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services program is available to minister to people in need when a disaster strikes suddenly and catastrophically. People around the world know that they can rely on The Salvation Army to provide help, care and hope when there seems to be none.

Five mobile feeding units make up the WMNI Division’s Emergency Disaster Services program. In each of these vehicles, also referred to as canteens, exists hot food and beverages ready to be served to both survivors and first responders at a moment’s notice. Critical Incident Stress Management volunteers meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs of survivors using these canteens as well.

Many volunteers are trained and certified in order to be ready and to serve through the Emergency Disaster Services program where and when necessary. This training is a key component of the program’s success.

Serving our neighbors at their point of deepest need is a hallmark of Emergency Disaster Services.
