A $110,000 Matching Challenge Gift has been made available through the generosity of The Salvation Army’s Grand Rapids Advisory Board and a core group of dedicated Salvation Army donors. For every $1 donated by the public, the Matching Gift will provide an additional $1 – going twice as far to help our neighbors in need right here in Kent County.

From Thursday, December 22 through Christmas Eve, donations from all sources (online, mail, red kettles, phone, etc.) in Kent County will be matched up to $110,000. The public can support the “Give Once; Bless Twice” $110,000 Matching Challenge Gift through a variety of ways:

  • At over 60 Red Kettle sites throughout Kent County
  • Online at SAKentCounty.org
  • By phone at 616.459.3433 or 1-800-SAL-ARMY
  • Through the mail at The Salvation Army / 1215 Fulton Street East / Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503

“We are blessed by the generosity of our donors, friends and board members for the example they set in our community. We are especially thankful for an additional Matching Challenge Gift of $110,000,” said Major Norman Grainger, Kent County Coordinator.

All ogifts will be used to meet local needs, right here in Kent County, throughout the coming year.
