Salvation Army Providing Support to First Responders and Evacuees for Southern California
The Salvation Army is responding to the recent fires in Southern California with disaster food services for emergency responders and families in need and mobilizing to serve those affected in the emergency shelter for the coming days.
As of September 11th, the American Red Cross is managing two emergency shelters in San Bernardino County in response to the Line Fire at the following locations:
- Jessie Turner Community Center: 15556 Summit Ave., Fontana, CA 92336
- San Bernadino County Fairgrounds: 14800 7th St., Victorville, CA 92395
In partnership with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army is providing meals, snacks, and drinks at the emergency shelters. To date, we have provided 697 and will continue to care for families and individuals affected by the fires in Southern California at our San Bernardino Citadel and Victor Valley Service Center, as well as the Jessie Turner Community Center in Fontana, and the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville.
The Salvation Army is on standby to serve at the Airport and Bridge fires, if needed. As always, The Salvation Army is prepared to offer both physical and spiritual assistance during this time of crisis within our community.
How to Help: As the fires and our response ramps up, The Salvation Army will need the help and support of the community to continue serving those in need. To find more information on how to donate and help, please visit: https://tinyurl.com/TSASoCalFires
