Cricket Wireless and The Salvation Army Launch "Likes for Tikes" Campaign to Raise $50,000
Funds raised will go towards the purchase of toys for children in need
ATLANTA, Nov. 8, 2018 - Cricket Wireless and The Salvation Army have teamed up to launch its second “Likes for Tikes” campaign to give children in need something to smile about this holiday. Anyone can contribute by clicking “like” on a participating Cricket Wireless retail store’s Facebook page. Cricket will donate $1 for every “like” – up to $50,000 towards the purchase of toys.
“Every child deserves to wake up with a smile and a gift under the tree,” said Tiffany Baehman, vice president and chief marketing officer, Cricket Wireless. “We want to give as many kids as possible that experience and take some pressure off of parents who are working hard to provide for their children.”
The “Likes for Tikes” campaign will run Nov. 9 – Dec. 9. Cricket elves will use the money to purchase toys in each participating market and deliver them to a local Salvation Army distribution center.
“We are so grateful for Cricket’s commitment to serving families in need through The Salvation Army. With their help, many low-income children went to school this year equipped with school supplies, and now many more will wake up on Christmas morning to toys under the tree, ” said Lt. Col. Ward Matthews, Secretary for National Community Relations and Development for The Salvation Army.
