Education for unaccompanied migrant children in Europe

The Directorate General on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Commission, in cooperation with the European Platform for Investing in Children, has recently published a policy memo, which provides a brief overview of national and school-level approaches to the inclusion of unaccompanied migrant children in formal education systems across EU Member States.
The briefing also discusses wider policy responses to the integration of these children into the host societies, while it provides links to legal bases to unaccompanied minors'rights and a few notes on the different approaches taken in the different member states, the figures on different nationalities represented amongst these children and many notes to detailed literature on the topic. Unaccompanied minors is an increasing phenomenon when it comes to addressing the needs of this disadvantaged group, end ensuring them the perspective of a social integrated
