The European Minimum Income Network (EMIN) is an informal Network of organisations and individuals committed to achieve the progressive realisation of the right to adequate, accessible and enabling Minimum Income Schemes.  EMIN unites various experts, professionals, academics and diverse entities active in the fight against poverty and social exclusion. EMIN is organised at EU and national levels, in 32 European countries, and is coordinated by the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN).

This year, EMIN has organised a bus ride throughout Europe as a Europe-wide advocacy action for the establishment of adequate and accessible minimum income schemes in all EU member states, in line with the principles enshrined in the European Pillar of Social Rights.
EMIN aims at guaranteeing income support for everybody who needs it, for as long as they need it, enough to live a life in dignity and fully participate in society, adapted to the cost of living in every European country

Yesterday morning the bus trip was launched in front of the European Parliament, with the participation of many members of the European Parliament, the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen and the president of Social Platform Jana Hainsworth. The EU Affairs Office participated in the event as included in the Social Platform General Assembly, and Mike Stannett gave his blessings together with some other religious leaders. The establishment of european wide schemes for adequate minimum Income would support people and families with limited financial means to live in dignity and be active in society, as well as providing an effective measure to ensure social cohesion, to manage transitions in the current changing world of work and to ensure decent wages and help to reverse the dangerous trend of ‘working poor’.
