The European Commission has opened a public consultation on a possible EU action addressing the challenges of access to social protection for people in all forms of employment in the framework of the European Pillar of Social Rights. All stakeholders are invited to respond to this. Results will inform the preparation of the Commission's non-legislative / legislative proposals.

This consultation is a result of concerns expressed regarding the obstacles faced by people on non-standard employment and self-employment in accessing social protection (ex: unemployment benefits, sickness benefits, disability benefits, pensions, etc.) and employment services (ex: training, career counselling ) as part of the public consultation on the European Pillar of Social Rights.

If you are working on employment/ social security issues in The Salvation Army, you are encouraged to look at the consultation and respond where possible.
