The EU Affairs Office encourages The Salvation Army to look carefully to see whether its work could benefit from this funding. The following call under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship programme on Roma integration and non-discrimination is particularly interesting and open until 21 March 2017.  

In this call, the European Commission wishes to support activities which tackle at least one of the following groups at risk of discrimination: racial or ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, older/younger people, religious minorities and LGBTI people. Roma is one of the priority areas of this call for proposals may be of interest to you in particular; (see link for other priority areas)

3. Roma: activities aiming to raise awareness and combat harmful stereotypes of Roma and supporting thereby their integration into mainstream society. Identification, implementation and exchange of good practices in addressing the most urgent challenges in the area of fighting discrimination and antigypsyism, especially fighting segregation in education, and promoting the empowerment of Roma youth and their active involvement in the process of Roma integration, including through the capacity building of civil society active at the local level.

Priority will be given to fund at least one project in each of the four priority areas, subject to eligibility and reaching sufficient quality threshold under award criteria.
