BuildERS Consortium in Budapest
The BuildERS consortium met together on February 18th and 19th to discuss the progress of the project and evaluate plans going forward. Anna-Mari Heikkilä, the new project coordinator from VTT, was present and led the general assembly. Leaders of each work package presented on the status of the work in progress, and additional time was spent in three workshops on work packages currently active.
The Salvation Army's role was highlighted during the meeting as necessary in bringing forward the voices of vulnerable people who have experienced disasters. A member of the advisory board encouraged the consortium to keep in mind the ultimate goal of the project in bringing about policies that support the most vulnerable to cope with extreme weather and other disasters.
The consortium meeting provided a valuable time for The Salvation Army to share the status of the project as it enters the pre-trial period of the delivery of the survey. The information gained from the pre-trials in Norway, Estonia, and Belgium will provide necessary feedback regarding the contents and delivery of the survey, with the aim of starting the full rollout of the survey in April or May in 14 European countries.
