The Council of Europe recently adopted Resolution 2153 (2017) adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly on 27 January 2017 promoting the inclusion of Roma and Travellers.  The resolution calls on the Council of Europe member states (42 countries) to implement recommendations addressing mainly education and employment but also stressed the need to directly involve Roma and Traveller representatives at all stages of the design, implementation and evaluation of policies, strategies and programmes, to fight anti-gypsyism and combat prejudices and stereotypes and to ensure that funding periods for such programmes allow for medium- to long-term planning.
