The Salvation Army EU Affairs Office has recently submitted to the European Commission its response to the public consultation on ‘The European Pillar of Social Rights’. The ENSS was invited to contribute in order to send a response that reflected the Europe-zone of The Salvation Army. Once established, the Pillar should become the reference framework to screen the employment and social performance of participating Member States, to drive reforms at national level and, more specifically, to serve as a compass for the renewed process of convergence within the euro area.

The EU Affairs Office will continue to follow the development of the Pillar in 2017, and will look to see if we and other civil society organisations have been heard.
