Devotional

"The daughters of Zelophehad are right in what they are saying" - Numbers 27:7a

When the daughters of Zelophehad ask to inherit from their Father, the Lord degrees that they are right. This decree doesn't just recognize that not being able to inherit is bad for the daughters but that it is not right. Around the world today women face similar barriers to inheriting and owning property, particularly around land which is often taken. In the fight for justice let us remember that this is not just about what is good for development or the world we want to see, but about what is right.

Lord, help us as we work for what is right.
Let us not be distracted in the pursuit of your justice.
Amen
