Brief summary of presentation of information made
The panel was made up of young girls from Pakistan, Armenia, Mongolia and Taiwan. They addressed issues such as child marriage, care of the environment, and the difference between boys and girls in the way they are raised in their countries.
What was of particular significance to share with The Salvation Army globally?
One issue of particular relevance to The Salvation Army is child marriage, or early marriage, which is still practised in countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and some parts of India. The Salvation Army is involved in awareness raising and prevention. This is an important issue which should continue to receive our attention, and should be part of the sexuality conversation in South Asia.
