Brief summary of presentation of information made
Speaker 1: The challenges faced by rural women are education, personal hygiene issues, FGM and early marriage.
Speaker 2: Practical solutions to help women solve this challenge are training and opportunity. A strong voice is needed to lead women in recognizing their own worth.
Speaker 3: Men and women should sit together to solve gender role issues. Men should be trained to be gender sensitive.
What was of particular significance to share with The Salvation Army globally?
We should create more awareness of gender based violence in our churches. Our reputation for working in the community provides an opportunity to raise this issue. We have a responsibility to rural women to speak against gender based violence.
