Salvation Army provides ongoing care to families of mine disaster victims

DURING four days of search and rescue operations following a disaster at the Upper Big Branch Mines in Montcoal, West Virginia (USA), The Salvation Army Beckley emergency services team provided almost 1,000 meals and many more snacks and drinks to workers involved in the rescue operations.
A total of 29 miners died in the mine tragedy that occurred on 5 April. The Salvation Army continues to offer emotional and spiritual care to families of the victims.
